CEO & Board Advisory

Diagnose critical situations, make the right decisions and support implementation.

Independent support to understand what is really blocking performance, make the right decisions and secure execution.

Performance issues rarely result from one factor alone. They may combine leadership limitations, lack of strategic clarity, organizational dysfunctions and insufficient human readiness.

WINGMIND supports CEOs, boards and investors when a sensitive situation requires an independent diagnosis, clear recommendations, decision support and help with implementation.

The mandate is not only to assess the situation, but to help decision-makers resolve it.

When CEO & Board Advisory Is Useful

We intervene when the causes of a difficulty are multidimensional, sensitive or insufficiently understood.

Underperformance or Turnaround

Results are deteriorating, corrective plans are not delivering or the root causes remain unclear.

CEO or Executive Difficulty

The board questions the leader’s fit, energy, judgment, impact or ability to lead the next chapter.

Fragile Leadership Team

Tensions, silos, conflicts or lack of alignment are slowing decisions and execution.

Governance Tensions

The relationship between CEO, board, shareholders or investors is deteriorating and expectations are no longer aligned.

Transformation, Scaling or Build-up

Growth, an acquisition or a transformation reveals weaknesses in leadership, structure or ways of working.

Leadership Transition

The organization must prepare succession, redefine a role, strengthen the team or decide on a leadership change.

Four Dimensions to Understand What Is Affecting Performance

We analyze the interactions between leadership, strategy, organization and human dynamics.

Leadership Performance

Can leaders succeed in their roles and lead the next chapter?

  • Capabilities and role fit
  • Judgment and decision-making
  • Energy, motivation and resilience
  • Impact on teams and stakeholders
  • Collective effectiveness of the leadership team

Strategic Clarity

Is the strategy clear, shared and translated into executable priorities?

  • Shared diagnosis of the situation
  • Vision and priorities
  • Trade-offs and choices
  • Roadmap and accountability
  • Alignment between CEO, board and management

Organizational Effectiveness

Is the organization truly able to execute the strategy?

  • Structure and operating model
  • Roles and accountability
  • Governance and decision processes
  • Cross-functional collaboration
  • Execution and transformation capacity

Culture & Human Readiness

Do people, culture and management practices support the required change?

  • Culture and behaviors
  • Trust and engagement
  • Key talent and retention risks
  • Management practices
  • Readiness to adopt change

Diagnose, Decide, Implement

A single mandate may cover all or part of these three stages, depending on the urgency and complexity of the situation.

01

Diagnose

  • Scoping with the CEO, board or investor
  • Review of facts, results and past decisions
  • Targeted stakeholder interviews
  • Identification of root causes and risks
  • Integrated analysis across the four dimensions
02

Decide

  • Clarification of options and scenarios
  • Assessment of risks and consequences
  • Independent recommendations
  • Preparation of trade-offs and sensitive conversations
  • Decision support for the CEO, board or shareholders
03

Implement

  • Clarification of roles and accountability
  • Changes to governance or organization
  • Support for executives and teams
  • Facilitation of key meetings and decisions
  • Follow-up on actions, progress and blockers

Concrete Decisions, Not Only a Diagnosis

Depending on the situation, recommendations may concern an individual, a team, governance, organization or the execution plan.

Improve

Develop the leader’s capabilities, strengthen impact or correct behaviors that limit performance.

Complement

Strengthen the team, recruit a missing capability or bring in external support.

Adapt

Redefine a role, scope, governance, organization or priorities.

Replace

Prepare a leadership change when improvement, reinforcement or adaptation will not be sufficient.

A Format Adapted to the Situation

The intervention may be focused, intensive or designed as an ongoing relationship.

Targeted Diagnosis

A short intervention to rapidly objectify a situation, clarify the causes and formulate recommendations.

Critical Decision Support

Confidential support to prepare a trade-off, board discussion, succession decision or reorganization.

Ongoing Advisory

Regular support for the CEO, chair or investors to secure decisions and implementation over time.

Assessment, Advisory or Coaching?

The boundaries are intentionally flexible: we design the intervention around the problem to be solved.

Assessment

Objectify a specific subject.

Assess an executive, leadership team or organization and produce recommendations and action priorities.

CEO & Board Advisory

Resolve a critical situation.

Diagnose a multidimensional issue, support the decision and help implement it.

Frequently Asked Questions

A few answers about the scope and format of CEO & Board Advisory.

Who is CEO & Board Advisory for?

CEOs, chairs, boards, shareholders and investors facing a leadership, governance, strategy, organization or execution issue.

Does the intervention always include a diagnosis?

A diagnosis is usually necessary, but its depth varies. It may involve a few interviews and a rapid analysis, or a more structured process using questionnaires, interviews and organizational data.

Can you recommend whether a CEO should stay or be replaced?

Yes. The objective is to help the board distinguish situations in which leadership should be improved, complemented, adapted or replaced, based on objective evidence and the company context.

Can you support implementation after the decision?

Yes. Support may include preparation of sensitive conversations, clarification of roles, changes to governance or organization, coaching of the CEO or leadership team and follow-up on priority actions.

How long does an assignment last?

It depends on the situation: a few days for a targeted diagnosis, several weeks for a structured intervention, or several months for implementation support and ongoing advisory.
